SiLabs USB Driver version 3.2 for the Quantum Programmer

The version 3.2 driver is improved over the previous version 3.1 driver in the following ways:

Installation Procedure:

  1. Disconnect the Quantum Programmer from your PC.
  2. If a previous SiLabs USB driver for the Quantum Programmer is installed, remove it using the Device Manager. To access the Device Manager, run "Control Panel | System | Hardware | Device Manager | Universal Serial Bus Controllers". Right mouse button click on "Quantum Programmer" and select "Properties" to display the Quantum Programmer Properties dialog. Click on the "Driver" tab. Click on "Uninstall".
  3. Extract the files from "QP_USBXp_DriverInstall.zip".
  4. Run the extracted "QP_USBXp_Installer.exe". If a message is displayed saying "The software you are installing for this hardware: Quantum Programmer has not passed Windows Logo testing ...", click on "Continue Anyway".
  5. Connect the Quantum Programmer to your PC. The "Found New Hardware Wizard" dialog will be displayed.
  6. When the wizard asks "What do you want the wizard to do?", select "Install the software automatically (Recommended)".
  7. If a message is displayed saying "The software you are installing for this hardware: Quantum Programmer has not passed Windows Logo testing ...", click on "Continue Anyway".

Important note:

If you install the version 3.2 driver, you must also install Q1aUpgrade 1.5.0.0, Q2Upgrade 1.13.0.2, and QuantumCVManager 1.8.0.1, or later versions. Earlier versions of Q1aUpgrade, Q2Upgrade, and QuantumCVManager are not compatible with the version 3.2 USB driver.

Likewise the new versions of Q1aUpgrade, Q2Upgrade and QuantumCVManager are not compatible with the earlier version 3.1 USB driver. In order to use the new versions of Q1aUpgrade, Q2Upgrade and QuantumCVManager, you must install the version 3.2 USB driver.

Troubleshooting:

If you experience problems running Q1aUpgrade, Q2Upgrade, or QuantumCVManager,
verify the following:

  1. Verify the driver installation. If the driver installation is successful, an entry for "Quantum Programmer" will appear in "Control Panel | System | Hardware | Device Manager | Universal Serial Bus Controllers". Right mouse button click on "Quantum Programmer" and select "Properties" to display the "Quantum Programmer Properties" dialog. Click on the "Driver" tab. The "Driver Version" should be "3.2.0.0".
  2. Verify the SiUSBXp.dll installation. In the same directory that you installed Q1aUpgrade.exe, Q2Upgrade.exe, or QuantumCVManager.exe, right mouse button click on "SiUSBXp.dll". Select "Properties" to display the "SiUSBXp.dll Properties" dialog. Click on the "Version" tab. The "File Version" should be "3.2.1.0".
