This is to clarify the large scale configurations. To begin with the decoders are all very similar. There are the Aristo, Bachmann and USA Trains versions that have the conventional Samtec pins. The Magnum is the same except the pins are cut off. All versions have the 36 screw terminals. The main Samtec connector J1 will always have 12 pins. The second Samtec connector, J2, at the opposite end of PCB, will be manufactured with 11 pins but modified to 10 pins as needed.

The prior Magnum was a two board assembly that utilized the former Aristo PnP decoder that plugged into the Magnum adaptor that included 8 screw terminals to make the motor, lights and track power connections.

I think you have hit a home run with the steam sounds. The chuff is very typical and is very responsive to load ("sound of power"). When I first put it on the tracks I ran the loco (a brass pacific) by itself and it was a very quiet chuff.

QSI’s New Titan DC/DCC Sound and Power Decoders Break the Stereo Sound Barrier.
Fred Severson, a Principal and Chief Engineer of QSI (Quinn-Severson Industries) announced today, the imminent release of the new Quantum DC/DCC "Titan Series" digital sound decoders. According to Fred, a seasoned veteran of locomotive sound unit designs for most of the major locomotive manufacturers, "The Titan Series represents the culmination and pinnacle of more than 30 years of locomotive sound system development by QSI." He went on to say that, "The Titans performance features dwarf the current leading technology options and unquestionably represent a mega step into the next generation. QSI Solutions is proud to announce the newest addition to its sound file family with the release of the long awaited sounds for the Budd RDC!

This new soundfile is available for both the Revolution and Aristo series decoders and is available in both the "as delivered" version which utilizes the standard Budd single chime airhorn, and New Haven version which carries the Hancock air-whistle. These sound files feature a new firmware set which allows for perfectly prototypical playback of the sounds through all the respective notches. We hope you enjoy it!
